My son adores Starbucks Frappuccinos and challenged me to make a homemade version that tastes just the same.
So that’s exactly what I did!
I reduced the calorific content of the regular Double Chocolate Chip Frappuccino (his favourite) and according to my guy it still tastes “amazing ” (his words).
So easier on the pocket, healthier and takes minutes to make. Win,win!
Remember, these are a treat so don’t get too hung up on the calorie content especially if your teens are active and will work this off at their weekly training sessions like mine.
Everything in moderation including moderation yeah?
Don’t worry Starbucks, he still loves a trip to your cafe with his pals, ordering something delicious and chatting with friends because ultimately that’s why any of us go to coffee shops. To socialise and enjoy the company of others.
I’m not knocking Starbucks in any way, I love it too! but my pocket unfortunately won’t stretch to a lot of Frappuccinos in addition to the million other social expenses my teens have!
What’s your Flavour?
Experiment with any mix of flavours that take your fancy.
My favourite is Strawberries and Cream but my boys are Double Chocolate Chip all the way! For a healthier chocolate version replace the chocolate syrup with cacao powder which is a great source of Iron, Potassium, Copper, and Magnesium.
Another healthy version made with a green superblend powder is popular with my gym loving teen as it is high in protein and supports muscle growth.
For Adults a Baileys Cream version is absolutely delicious and makes for a nice after dinner dessert cocktail.
The possibilities are endless!
